Pre-move purging

Moving to a new home is an exciting but daunting project, especially if you own a lot of stuff. One way to relieve the chore of packing, organizing, and loading up your belongings on moving day is to undergo a major pre-move purge of all your household items. By reducing your stuff ahead of moving day, you’ll alleviate stress before and during your move, rendering a fresh start in your new home with items you truly use and love.

When our team comes to your home to purge prior to your move, we will go room to room and organize items into 5 separate categories. The categories include items to keep, sell, donate, recycle, or trash. We have local charities and shelters that accept donationsof all kinds.

This process is best when you are involved to make decisions. We will handle all of the work, while you sit and tell us if an item is a keeper or not.

When going through your belongings, ask yourself a few key questions for each item:

1. Do I use this?

2. Does it fit/work properly/make me happy?

3. Is it expired?

4. Did I even remember I had this?

Purging and decluttering your home of superfluous or unused items is one of the best ways to speed along the moving process. By doing so, you will:

Packing

Our team will pack your items as if they are our own. We go the extra mile which includes:

- Creating a custom plan and schedule taylored to your move.

- Ensure that you have all of the packing supplies you need. We have found the best deals on supplies and will share links or stores with you to save you the most money on boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper, packing tape

- Taking photos of how electronics are connected before unplugging to ensure they are properly connected after moving.

- Packing each box by room. Properly labeling the box and including a description of the contents within the box.

- Creating an easy and smooth experience for your movers. We have used several methods in the past such as blue tape on boxes = items to go to storage, and green tape on boxes = items that go to the new home.

- Make recommendations such as having your area rugs cleaned prior to moving so they are returned to you by the cleaners, rolled, wrapped and ready to move.

- Take an inventory of all of the boxes packed and larger items ready to move.

- We will also remind you to change your address through the post office and on your license as well as cancel/update any subscriptions that you may have that go to your current address.

- We can recommend movers we have used previously

- If we are not managing the move on moving day, we will call you within two weeks after you move to ensure you had a flawless moving day!

Managing the process (Moving Day)

We have had many clients that simply needed someone to manage the process on moving day. Having that extra help with letting movers know where to place boxes and ensuring that their walls and items stay protected is something we love to assist with!

- If you are moving from out of state, having someone at your home when the movers arrive gives you piece of mind to ensure a flawless execution.

- We will properly label rooms throughout your home to help guide movers when placing boxes and furniture.

- We ensure all boxes and furniture are accounted for.

- Watching and instructing movers to place boxes 2 inches away from any walls or in closets of rooms will ensure that there is plenty of space to unpack.

- We will take photos. Taking photos of the floors and walls prior to having movers in your home will ensure that any incidences are properly documented.

- Typically, movers charge per hour, we will help ensure the time you are paying for will be done so efficiently. We will keep them on task and review any time discrepancies with the moving company.

Unpacking

Moving into a new home is a very exciting time! Although it can also become a bit overwhelming too. We do not just empty boxes, we will sort, organize, put away and style your things in a practical and manageable manner that will fit your everyday needs. We will make the most of your home, maximizing storage and organizing every space so you benefit from whole-home organization from day one.

- During your consultation, we will strategize and come up with a plan to ensure a flawless execution on your big day.

- We do travel. If you are in need of an organizer and are moving out of state, please contact us to discuss pricing and availability.

- We start with necessities. This should be one of the first boxes off the truck or the boxes that came with you in the car. These are the essential items you need to keep your home running in the short term. These essentials will normally include basic toiletries, medications, books, necessary paperwork, phone and computer chargers, and some basic food preparation items.

- Typically, the kitchen is the first area completed. Then we move to bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas then utility areas such as the basement, garage, and attic. We can however, customize a system that works for you.

- We do assemble small furniture. This service is included in the hourly rate.

-If you would like your shelves and drawers lines, this can be completed for an additional charge.

Storage Unit Organization
